The Story
Thicker to last longer beats thinner to throw away
The workhorse polymers behind carry bags and liners: strong, light, food-safe, and recyclable through store drop-off film programs.
HDPE (code #2) and LDPE (code #4) are the films that carry shopping home and line the bins afterwards. They are strong, food-safe and, critically, recyclable through the growing US network of store drop-off film collection. They are not accepted in most kerbside recycling programs, but store drop-off offers a real and accessible route.
Our 58-micron HDPE carry bag is designed for reuse: it is a carry bag, then a storage bag, then a bin liner, then recycling stock. That is the whole argument. A thicker bag used five times displaces five thin bags used once. Thicker bags designed to last longer can be a better choice than thinner bags that are quickly discarded.

Questions, answered
No, plastic film jams kerbside sorting equipment. Take clean, dry film to a store drop-off collection point; the US network for this is large and growing.
Our 58-micron HDPE carry bag is made for repeat use. Thinner gauges (#5–#9 at 17–30 micron) are single-trip bags that still make good bin liners afterwards.
Yes, our PLA Compostable Bags & Liners cover thank-you carry bags and trash liners in a plant-based, compostable form.
Yes, where the listing specifies food contact. Food-safe, BPA-free and FDA-compliant.
Match micron to load and bin size: 16–35 micron HDPE for general waste, 38 micron LDPE where you need stretch and puncture resistance.
