Certified, tested and verified
Every supplier in this category calls itself eco-friendly. Very few will send you a certificate number. These are the marks we hold, what each one certifies, and which of our ranges it actually covers, because a certification that applies to one product and gets implied across a catalogue is not a credential, it is a claim.
Twelve marks, and what each one covers
Held at product level or facility level as stated. Documentation is issued per destination market.
USDA Certified Biobased
United StatesA US government mark certifying the percentage of biobased carbon in a product, independently verifiable, and held by very few suppliers in this category.
BPI Certified Compostable
North AmericaThe mark US municipal composting programmes and retailers look for. Certifies the product meets ASTM D6400 or D8410 and will break down in a commercial facility.
FSC
GlobalForest Stewardship Council chain-of-custody certification: timber and fibre traceable to responsibly managed forests, with harvesting that maintains biodiversity.
ASTM D6400 & D8410
North AmericaD8410 covers moulded fibre, D6400 covers compostable plastics. We state the standard and the timeframe rather than claiming “biodegradable”, which has neither.
EN 13432
European Union & UKThe European compostability standard, required for SUPD compliance and most EU retail listings.
FDA 21 CFR
United StatesManufactured to comply with FDA food-contact requirements. Note the FDA does notapproveorcertifyfood-contact articles; any supplier claiming it does is describing something that does not exist.

European UnionThe EU regulation on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
ISO 9001
GlobalCertified quality management system: documented processes, traceability and corrective action, audited annually.

No Added PFAS
US & EUTested free of added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. Grease resistance comes from the fibre, not a fluorochemical barrier, increasingly a legal requirement rather than a preference.
Phytosanitary & Fumigation
Per destinationIssued per shipment where the destination requires it, alongside ISPM-15 pallet marking.
Three claims you will see elsewhere that we will not make
This matters to you commercially, not just to us. A distributor or retailer who repeats a supplier’s inaccurate claim on their own listing inherits the liability for it. We would rather give you language that survives a challenge than language that sells the first pallet and creates a problem on the fifth.
Documents, on request
Certificates, test reports, specification sheets, food-contact declarations and SDS are supplied per product and per destination market. Tell us where you are selling and we will send the set that market requires, not a generic PDF.

How we write a certification
Every certification on this site names the standard it was awarded against, and applies to the specific product line that holds it, not to the brand in general. If a line is not certified to something, we do not imply that it is.

Responsible forestry
No Added PFAS, and why it matters
Fluorochemicals have been used across the foodservice fibre industry to achieve grease resistance, and they persist in the environment and in people. Our bagasse range is No Added PFAS: the grease resistance comes from the moulded fibre itself rather than from an added barrier.
BPI has required since 2020 that certified products contain no intentionally added fluorinated chemicals and test below 100 ppm total organic fluorine. It is one of the few claims in this category that a buyer can genuinely verify, which is why we lead with it.
